In the course of our regular product checks, we have identified a potential component problem which can affect the seal around the heat exchanger in Vaillant ecoTEC boilers manufactured between February 2005 and March 2006. Under certain conditions the seal can prematurely degrade which could lead to plastic components within the boiler being damaged through overheating.

This warning comes just days before a handyman is due to be sentenced at the Old Bailey, London for three counts of manslaughter after fitting a faulty boiler for family friends.
